Ofelia Hakobyan
Born in 1960 in Yerevan, he grew up in a Christian family in a spiritual environment. His mother, Amalia Hakobyan, was one of the first members of the Hispano-Serbian Church, formed in the 1960s, and made a great contribution to raising her children with Christian values.
Ofelia, having chosen the ways of the Lord since childhood, actively participated in church activities: she worked with children, in her youth she was engaged in evangelistic activities, sang in a four-part choir, and helped burdened families with economic matters. From a young age, she knew that God had called her to ministry. After graduating from Armenian secondary school, she married and devoted herself to her family.
As a mother of three young children, she received a clear vision from God to start a new church. She says that in the mid-1980s, she felt a spiritual hunger in her heart, seeking God’s face. At that time, although there were denominational churches, she knew that God had a plan and that a new wave of the Holy Spirit was coming. God had given her the assignment to fulfill the vision, and although there was no support from anyone, the expectation was completely from the Lord.
He was convinced that God’s will and plans come from heaven to earth through prayer, and that prayer opens the way for God’s will to be accomplished. Prayer has always been a priority in his life, and he believed that “the prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:16). He offers intercessory prayers, first praying alone for a while, and then gathering new souls.

They were continuous intercessory prayers with the power of authority. A spiritual battle was taking place. Along with persistent prayers, he spread the word of God. When telling about the episodes of his life, he said: “A spirit of prayer came upon me, it was inspired by the Holy Spirit. We prayed in groups, I led the group myself, I conveyed to them what I knew. I interpreted the word of God, involving them in prayers. Despite the prohibitions and persecutions, as the apostle Paul says, “... I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision” (Acts 26:19), I continued to work, participating in the founding of the Church.
In 1990, we finally got the result of our long-awaited dreams and efforts. The church was born... The group was passed on and took on its historical course. The number of saved people increased day by day. It became one of the largest churches in Armenia.
For years, Ofelia Hakobyan has served in Bible, senior and missionary schools, and in various churches as a teacher. She has raised prayer groups, traveling to many cities.
Of course, many years later, he better understood the meaning of intercessory prayer and the importance of purposeful prayers.
30 years later, he is realizing a new vision, raising an army of intercessors. He is establishing prayer schools and prayer centers, raising teams, holding prayer conferences and seminars. He is currently continuing to realize the vision of a prayer movement for these times... "Until the next generation passes on the power and might of God" (Ps. 71:17-18).
For centuries we have had holy martyrs who have left intercessory prayers for our nation, true intercessors whom we greatly need in our day. God needs intercessors who will stand in the trenches to wage spiritual warfare and build walls of defense.
